Olympiacos striker Kevin Mirallas has revealed that Arsenal have made contact with his agent over a move. A fast, tricky and versatile forward, Mirallas has also drawn interest from Liverpool and Tottenham in recent months, but revealed earlier this week that Arsenal have now made contact with his representatives. ‘There is still a chance I will move to the Premier League,’ Mirallas explained. ‘My agent is having talks with Arsenal, those rumours are true.’ The news of Arsenal’s interest in Mirallas comes as captain Robin van Persie edges closer to a move out of the Emirates, with Manchester United expected to lodge a fresh £20 million bid later this week. Mirallas, who is already being seen by some as a talented replacement, has been told he can leave Olympiacos this summer but only for £6 million – a price the player believes is too much. ‘Only Olympiacos is in the way. They want £6 million and not a penny less. But if the move doesn’t come through, I am happy to stay in Athens.’ The Belgian international is said to have caught the eye of Arsenal scouts during Olympiacos’ clashes with the Gunners in the Champions League last season.
