Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering a move for Udinese star Pablo Armero after a personal recommendation from chief scout Dave Fallows. But as well as going forward, Rodgers is also keen to add some defensive stability and is on the lookout for a versatile utility man who can play at both full back and as a holding midfielder. Former Arsenal star Mathieu Flamini is one option being considered, but Liverpool’s chief scout Fallows has urged the club to go for rugged enforcer Armero instead. The 26-year-old Colombian, who can play at left-back or across the midfielder, has excelled since moving to Europe in August 2010, where his physical and all action qualities have seen him become a success among the Udinese faithful. Premier League rivals Sunderland and QPR, with whom Armero held talks with during the summer, are also keen on the player, and Fallows has told Rodgers privately he must act quickly to get his man. It’s thought a fee in the region of £5.5million would be enough to seal the deal.
