Despite struggling for form and fitness last season, Gerrard was England’s star man this summer and repaid Roy Hodgson’s decision to make him captain.The 31-year-old bagged three assists in four matches and scored in the penalty shoot-out defeat to Italy in the quarter-final.The Liverpool midfielder makes the star-studded line-up alongside midfield maestro Andres Iniesta, who was picked as the player of the championships.   He is one of ten Spanish players to be named together with Iker Casillas, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Jordi Alba, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fabregas and David Silva.Beaten finalists Italy are represented by Gianluigi Buffon, Daniele De Rossi and Mario Balotelli.
