TALKSPORT – Andy Carroll ruled out of the England squad

Andy Carroll is out of the England squad for the friendlies against Republic of Ireland and Brazil. The Liverpool striker, who has spent the season on loan at West Ham, last played for his country in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino in October 2012, but he was recalled to Roy Hodgson’s squad after some impressive end of season form. His chances of a return for the Three Lions have now been dashed, however, after he was forced to withdraw because of injury.
