TI – Anfield faithful wish Gerrard well… but won’t be flying the flag

Dave Murphy is the man charged with organising the coaches that ferry official Liverpool supporters’ club members around the country to follow their team. He would not dream of travelling to watch England, however, and has one overriding thought at Steven Gerrard’s trip to Sweden to complete his century of caps tomorrow: “My own personal feeling is I hope he comes back fully fit and raring to go for Liverpool.”

Fulham’s Danny Murphy rejects QPR and joins Blackburn on free transfer

Danny Murphy has left Fulham to join Blackburn on a free transfer after rejecting a late approach from Queens Park Rangers. Danny Murphy has joined Blackburn on a two-year deal (Picture: Getty) The former Liverpool midfielder decided to move to Ewood Park over Loftus Road after receiving a two-year contract at the Lancashire club. The 35-year-old will now compete in the Championship after spending the last 11 years in the top flight of English football.Murphy leaves Premier League club Fulham following five successful seasons at the west London team and his capture represents a coup for Blackburn manager Steve Kean.Cottager’s boss Martin Jol had previously stated his desire to retain the services of the former England international, but Rovers have managed to snare him from Fulham.Murphy brings a wealth of experience with him to Blackburn having played for Crewe, Liverpool, Charlton and Tottenham.The midfielder has scored a total of 117 goals in 701 career appearances.
